2025 World Pride Capital Cup Golf Championship in Washington DC, May 31 - June 2

Washington, DC, February 19, 2025 - The 2025 World Pride Capital Cup Golf Championship is set to make history this summer at East Potomac Golf Links from May 31-June 2, 2025. As part of the 50th anniversary of Pride in Washington, DC, this groundbreaking event will unite LGBTQ+ golfers, allies, and sports enthusiasts from around the world.

The Championship will feature individual and team competitions in both match and stroke play, welcoming all skill levels, ages, and handicaps in a co-ed format. Beyond the fairways, World Pride 2025 will transform Washington, D.C. into a global hub of celebration, hosting two weeks of festivals dedicated to arts & culture, music, human rights, and sports, drawing over two million attendees.

Organized by Lambda Links, the premiere LGBTQ+ golf club serving Washington DC and the DMV area, the Championship will emphasize inclusion, diversity and the spirit of pride. Through partnerships with organizations like National Links Trust, Capital Pride Alliance and Team DC, the three day programming aims to inspire the LGBTQ+ golf community while raising funds for LGBTQ+ youth programs.

"Hosting a landmark event like the 2025 World Pride Golf Championship at one of our historic facilities in the nation's capital is an honor for National Links Trust," said Damian Cosby, PGA, Executive Director of National Links Trust.  We believe golf should be inclusive and accessible to everyone, and events like World Pride exemplify this.  We cannot wait to welcome the event participants to East Potomac Golf Links and Washington DC this summer."

This year’s Championship is supported by Tourism Ireland, a Supporting Sponsor, and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), a Contributing Sponsor, underscoring the global reach and significance of the event.
