Washington, DC, January 15, 2025 – National Links Trust (NLT), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC dedicated to dedicated to positively impacting the Washington, DC community and changing lives through affordable and accessible municipal golf, has announced that the 2025 National Links Trust Championship Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods will take place October 24–26 in Washington, DC. This national championship is exclusively for public-access male and female golfers aged 25 and older. The championship will once again be organized in partnership with Anera Sports, a leader in tournament operations and logistics, with DICK’S Sporting Goods returning as the presenting sponsor.

The event will once again be held at the historic Blue Course at East Potomac Golf Links, a 1923 Walter Travis design that hosted the 1923 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. The 2025 competition will expand to 54 holes of stroke play competition, making it eligible for World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.

“The addition of WAGR points is a significant development for the long-term trajectory of the NLT Championship,” said Sinclair Eaddy Jr., Tournament Chairman and member of the United States Golf Association (USGA) Executive Committee. “We are excited to welcome some of the best male and female players in the country to our nation’s capital for what will surely be another successful event.”

The first two editions of the championship featured competitive fields, including players with extensive experience at the top levels of amateur golf. Inaugural women’s division champion Stephanie Tran has competed in USGA championships, as has inaugural men’s division champion Tyler McKeever. McKeever, a multi-time participant in USGA championships, earned invitations to prestigious events such as the George L. Coleman Invitational at Seminole Golf Club and the Walter J. Travis Invitational at Garden City Golf Club following his 2023 NLT Championship victory. He is expected to compete again in 2025.

“Tyler is a great example of what we hoped to achieve when we created this championship,” said Rob Addington, CEO of Anera Sports. “We’re eager to see more players like him use this event as a springboard to compete against the best mid-am players in the country, representing public and municipal golf with pride. The 2025 NLT Championship will surely produce another accomplished, deserving winner.”
