ABOUT THE PROJECt
In 2024, National Links Trust (NLT) completed a rehabilitation project at the Miniature Golf Course at East Potomac Golf Links. The course is a valuable cultural asset - the oldest continuously operating miniature golf course in the country and listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It attracts people of all different backgrounds to our facility for fun, affordable recreation, however, before NLT’s work it did not live up to its potential. This project aimed to address that and restore the course to its former glory.
The work was undertaken in partnership with the National Park Service who have been incredibly supportive of our vision for the future of public golf in our nation’s capital. As of fall 2024, the project has been completed and the course is open for play until 9 PM (last tee time at 8)! You can book your tee time in advance using the link below (we recommend this!) or walk up.

COURSE HISTORY
Built in 1931, the Miniature Golf Course at East Potomac Golf Links is the country’s oldest continuously operating miniature golf course and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. When it was originally designed, patrons putted through small replicas of the White House, Capitol Building, and Mount Vernon, and played into the night under lights. While these features were eventually eliminated, the course remained a popular, affordable recreation option for people of all backgrounds in the city. After years of deferred maintenance, the course was in need of repair. We addressed these repairs starting in March of 2024 before reopening the rehabilitated facility in the fall of 2024.
