National Links Trust to Receive $500,000 Investment from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation to Support New Facilities at Rock Creek Park
Washington, D.C. --- On Thursday, April 21, 2022, the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation announced a two-year, $500,000 investment in the National Links Trust (NLT). The investment from the Clark Foundation will support the construction of a driving range facility and clubhouse at Rock Creek Park.
“This investment will be truly impactful in support of our strategic capital projects. We are grateful and humbled by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation’s commitment to the National Links Trust and the residents of Washington, DC,” said Sinclair Eaddy Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of National Links Trust.
Mr. Clark, former chief executive of Clark Construction Group and Clark Enterprises, Inc., was an avid golfer and loved spending time outdoors.
NLT is focused on the extraordinary opportunity to improve the golf courses and enhance the facilities at the three municipal courses in our nation’s capital: Rock Creek Golf Course, Langston Golf Course, and East Potomac Golf Links. Each of these sites has a rich, storied history and the planned improvements will rehabilitate each course while making golf more accessible and inclusive for golfers and community members of all ages and demographics.
The plans for the Rock Creek course include a new clubhouse structure with space for standard golf course infrastructure (pro shop, restrooms, kitchen, restaurant seating) and a new double-decker practice driving range. In addition, the NLT will host programming such as golf leagues, holiday and summer camps, and community outings. The enhanced facilities will also support expanded youth programming for the First Tee of Greater Washington, DC, another Clark Foundation grantee.
“Mr. Clark sought to improve the lives of Washington, DC area residents, and we are excited to support The National Links Trust project to improve the three municipal golf courses in Washington DC. The Rock Creek Park project offers employment opportunities, outdoor recreation, and community programming to engage young residents. We look forward to seeing the hard work of NLT benefit the communities in our city,” said Joe Del Guercio, President and CEO of the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation.
